YAM MILLING AND YAM FLOUR PROCESSING

Yam is one of the staple foods contributing to the development of Nigeria. Currently, the shares of yam for amala, pounded yam, chips and others, are estimated at 65 percent, 30 percent, 3 percent, and 2 percent, respectively.

The base raw material for yam flour, pounded yam flour production is yam, and 100 percent of the 500,000 metric tons is locally produced. Lepos Foods has established a state-of-the-art plant in Ogbooro in Saki East Local Government Area of Oyo State, Nigeria to cater for the growing needs of its population. The market is expected to grow annually by 11.5% (Compound annual growth rate CAGR 2024-2034).

MAIZE AND SOYABEAN MILLING

Maize is the top most consumed staple food in Nigeria and has become a food security crop due to its increased significance in the country. Currently, the shares of maize for human foods and animal feeds are estimated at 70 percent, 30 percent, respectively.

The base raw material for maize flour, ogi (pap), cornflakes, and poultry feeds is maize, and more than 80 percent of the of the annually maize demand is locally produced. Lepos Foods has established a state-of-the-art plant in Ogbooro in Saki East Local Government Area of Oyo State, Nigeria to cater for the growing needs of its population. The market is expected to grow annually by 11.5% (Compound annual growth rate CAGR 2024-2034).

MAIZE AND SOYABEANS PLANTATIONS

Lepos Group invested in large scale estates within the country to deepen local maize and soyabeans production in Nigeria. Lepos Group has also acquired about 4,000ha of land in Ogbooro, Oyo State for the purpose of setting up large-scale maize and soyabeans plantations. Upon fully coming on stream, these initiatives will add significantly to the development of Nigeria’s local maize and soyabeans industry.

All the cassava and allied investments of Lepos Industries are set up to take advantage of the entire cassava production value chain. These include investments in cassava estates as well as processing capabilities.

The Group currently has 1 ultra-modern and automated mega garri processing plant that utilize state-of-art equipment to process high quality products for consumption and industrial uses. The Garri processing plant have a total combined installed processing capacity of 250,000 metric tonnes.

OIL MILLING AND MELON PLANTATIONS

Lepos Group edible oil milling division produces oil from groundnut and melon seeds and also produces animal feeds and soap. Lepos is the first company to produce cooking oil using melon seeds in Sub-Sahara Africa.
